Abstract:
Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting small data capable of increasing a success rate of transmitting small data by a terminal apparatus and reducing power consumption of the terminal apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal apparatus determining, according to first information, a target uplink carrier from a supplementary uplink (SUL) carrier and a normal uplink (NUL) carrier, the first information comprising at least one of the following: channel quality of a service cell, the size of data to be transmitted, a transmission block size (TBS) supported by the SUL carrier and the NUL carrier, load balancing factors of the SUL carrier and the NUL carrier, and an uplink carrier for small data transmission as instructed by a network apparatus; and the terminal apparatus transmitting small data on the target uplink carrier.
