Abstract:
A method for treating a plastic waste comprising a polystyrene based plastic containing a flame retardant, characterized in that it comprises dissolving the plastic waste comprising a polystyrene based plastic containing a flame retardant in a solvent capable of dissolving the polystyrene based plastic, and subjecting the resulting liquid mixture to centrifugal separation, to thereby separate and recover the polystyrene based plastic&semi and an apparatus for practicing the method. The method allows the separation of a flame retardant and a polystyrene based plastic contained in a plastic waste and the recovery of both of them with ease and with no excessive heat treatment, which leads to the promotion of the recycle of household electrical appliances.
