Abstract:
A method and apparatus for updating the subscription configuration of an Access Point Name (APN) are disclosed. Said method includes receiving an update request message sent from a network element, wherein said update request message includes a first APN information, Packet Data Network Gateway (PDN GW) information, and an International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) (101); acquiring a second APN information of a corresponding user according to said IMSI (102); and when said first APN information is different from said second APN information, and said corresponding user subscribes to a wild card APN, updating the subscription configuration of said wild card APN of said corresponding user according to said first APN information (103). According to the embodiments of the present invention, unnecessary signaling interaction operations of the home subscriber server and between it and other network elements can be decreased, network data transmission performance can be improved, and unnecessary overhead for the HSS can be reduced.
