Abstract:
Provided by the present invention is a method and an apparatus for updating user plane gateway, so as to solve technical problem in the prior art of GW-U being unable to be updated when MME and GW-C are unchanged. Provided by the embodiments of the present invention are four different solutions. From the perspective of being compatible with the existing implementation mechanism and improving system efficiency, the solutions respectively realize that, when the UE is performing TAU, the EPS system of a distributed gateway may select, according to the current position of a UE, the optimal GW-U and reestablishes a PDN connection, so as to realize the optimization of data transfer path and ensure the communication performance.
