Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for applying a sample adaptive offset (SAO) to an upper layer in a scalable video coding, the method applying a SAO on an enhancement layer on the encoding side on the basis of information related to a SAO applied to a base layer, and transmitting, to the decoding side for decoding, SAO indication information indicating a SAO applied to the enhancement layer.
