Title:
METHOD FOR APPLYING A SELF-CLEANING COATING TO TEXTILE MATERIALS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003008697
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method by which means aerosils can be non-permanently applied to all textile materials and items of clothing using a normal chemical cleaning process. In standard current chemical cleaning processes, perchloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene or heavy naphtha are predominantly used. A hydrophobic aerosil can be suspended in said solvents. Advantageously, the solvents used are suitable for most items of clothing. When a small percentage of aerosil is added to said solvents/detergents and items of clothing are cleaned with said aerosil/solvent mixture, a non-permanent, dirt-repelling layer is directly applied during the chemical cleaning of the textile material.
