The present invention is a method for determining whether the concentration of a test substance in a reaction liquid is in a range suitable for concentration measurement using an immunoagglutination reaction, the method including: a step for determining, on the basis of a scattered light intensity of a reaction liquid in a first period of the reaction and the scattered light intensity of the reaction liquid in a second period of the reaction, an index value relating to a variation between the rate of change of the scattered light intensity in the first period and the rate of change of the scattered light intensity in the second period for an immunoagglutination reaction between a test substance generated in the reaction liquid and a bonding partner thereof; and a step for comparing the index value and a threshold value set in advance and thereby assessing whether or not the concentration of the test substance is within an appropriate range. The present invention is also a sample analysis device having a processing unit for executing the method.
