Abstract:
A method for assigning namespace LBA for use in an NVMe SSD controller and a mapping method, organisation management of the controller in the SSD controller being implemented on the basis of an LMU method, and LMU being assigned to a namespace on the basis of a variant B+ tree structure. Assignment of the controller LBA is executed when creating a namespace. During the controller LBA assignment method, all of the controller LBA are divided into a plurality of LBA management units LMU, each LMU comprising the same number of controller LBA; and the SSD controller assigns the controller LBA to the namespace in LMU units. In order to effectively use the assigned controller LBA, the present method creates a variant B+ tree data structure with a degree of M, and assigns the available LMU ID to a keyword in variant B+ tree leaf nodes, thereby implementing the assignment method in the present embodiment. The present invention can increase the controller LBA utilisation rate, increasing the SSD controller front end read/write processing speed.
