Abstract:
A method for balancing the load of a wireless network, network equipment, and terminal equipment. As an example, the implementation of the method comprises: network equipment sends a first indication message to terminal equipment, the first indication message being used for indicating to report access point information, and the network equipment belonging to a first wireless network; the network equipment receives the access point information returned by the terminal equipment, the access point information comprising to-be-selected access points, and the to-be-selected access points belonging to a second wireless network; the network equipment selects an access point from the to-be-selected access points as a target access point; and the network equipment shunts a service of the terminal equipment to the target access point. Network equipment sends an instruction to terminal equipment, the terminal equipment reports access point information, the access point information is more accurate and timely, and the network equipment can accordingly and accurately determine a target access point that can be used for shunting, such that more effective shunting is realized in a heterogeneous network, and a shunting effect for balancing load is improved.
