Abstract:

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for a base station, a method for a user equipment, a base station, and a user equipment. The method for a base station comprises: receiving a random access preamble from a user equipment by means of receiving beamforming; and transmitting a random access response to the user equipment. The method for a user equipment comprises: transmitting a random access preamble to a base station; and receiving a random access response from the base station by means of receiving beamforming. The embodiments of the present invention propose a beamforming-based random access channel process to combat heavy path loss in a wireless communication environment (such as, millimeter wave communication), thereby effectively ensuring uplink access of the user equipment.
