Abstract:
A pressing step in which bark is pressed is carried out prior to the step of immersing bark in an aqueous solution so as to decompose a gum existing in the bark and bonding bark fibers to each other. Thus, the bark fibers are mechanically separated from the gum of the bark, so that the area of contact of the gum of the bark with the aqueous solution is enlarged to thereby accelerate the decomposition of the gum.
