Abstract:

A slip ring is housed in a ram (34). The slip ring comprises a fixed section (72) having a current feeder connected to a power supply and a movable section (73) electrically connected to the power current feeder. The movable section (73) comprises contacts (75) for supplying a power to the electric devices of a spindle unit (100) and a spindle head (118). After a saddle (32) is positioned in the Y-axis direction and a table is positioned in the X-axis direction, the spindle head (118) is positioned around a B-axis, and the spindle unit (100) is swung around a C-axis. In this state, a work (W) on the table is bored with a non-rotating cutting tool (170) attached to the spindle unit (100) by moving the ram (34) in the Z-axis direction.
