Abstract:
Notches (16) are formed running along the inner circumference of bolt holes (6) which are formed at both sides of the larger end (5) of a connecting rod (1), and the connecting rod (1) is broken into a rod part and a cap part by causing a breaking dislocation to propagate radially with the notches (16) as the starting point. In this case, no converging location for the propagation of the break exists, so the connecting rod (1) can be broken off without producing an uneven fracture surface.
