Abstract:
An important cost factor in beer production are expensive brewery installations, in particular fermentation and storage cellars. Another important cost factor in supplying customers with draft beer or similar beverages is the transport of said beverages. In order to reduce the costs and the logistical complexity, it is proposed that granular wort material is poured into a bag, optionally together with yeast and hops. The bag has a small volume and a low weight and therefore can be easily transported to a destination. Water is not added to the bag until the bag is at the destination. When water is added to the bag, the granular wort material is dissolved again and the fermentation begins. Thus, the fermentation and storage tanks currently typical in brewing are omitted. After the fermentation has concluded, the final product is then available in the bag, and said final product is optionally subsequently carbonated.
