Abstract:
A method of building a wide semisubmersible rig (11) by combining divisional members thereof. A pair of trench type docks (1) are constructed in a place which is other than the places of the already-constructed docks (7), (8) in such a manner that the docks (1) are spaced in accordance with the interval of the pontoons of the semisubmersible rig (11). The divisional members (9), (10) of a semisubmersible rig are built in the already-constructed docks (7), (8). The divisional members (9), (10) thus built are placed in the trench type docks (1). The resultant divisional members (9), (10) are joined to each other to form a semisubmersible rig (11).
