Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of calibrating a pneumatic brake booster for a motor vehicle braking circuit. According to the invention, for a given value of negative pressure (Pfc) in the vacuum chamber of a booster, the value of the outlet pressure (Pmc) of the hydraulic master cylinder which is connected to said booster and the value of the negative pressure in the working chamber of the booster are measured and recorded for several booster operating points P1, P2, P3, P4 located on either side of the saturation point. In this way, the co-ordinates of the saturation point can be accurately determined in order to control precisely the advanced features of the booster, namely braking, brake assist and/or operation and ageing monitoring.
