Abstract:
A method for calibrating a microwave radiometer, the method not requiring the use of liquid nitrogen as a calibration source, wherein the method involves: receiving electrical waves emitted from a measurement target in accordance with the temperature of the measurement target, the electrical waves being received by a receiver (2) connected to a primary radiator (1); observing a plurality of calibration sources for which the luminance temperature is known, the calibration sources being applied to a microwave radiometer that measures the luminance temperature of the measurement target on the basis of an output signal from the receiver (2); and calibrating a noise temperature Trx of the receiver (2), which manifests on the output side of the receiver (2), the method being such that an electrical wave reflector (21) that reflects all of the noise emitted from the input side of the receiver (2) is used as one of the plurality of calibration sources.
