Abstract:
A method for calling a compression tool, a device, and a storage medium. The method comprises: analyzing, in response to a user operation initiating file compression, a file to be compressed to obtain the type and the size thereof, and recording a compression mode and a compression tool selected by the user (S10); upon completion of the compression, recording the compression rate and compression time of the compression tool used (S20); calculating, for every pre-determined period and according to a pre-determined recommendation value calculation formula, a recommendation value related to the compression rate or a recommendation value related to the compression time of each compression tool for each type of file (S30); receiving a user request for compressing of a file and a compression mode selected by the user (S40); and selecting, under the compression mode, a compression tool corresponding to a maximum recommendation value of the compression rate or to a maximum recommendation value of the compression time, and automatically calling the selected compression tool to compress the file (S50). The method selects the optimal compression tool for a compression mode selected by a user, thereby optimizing effectiveness of compression.
