Title:
METHOD FOR CATALYTIC DECOMPOSITION OF ORGANIC HYDROPEROXIDES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2003037839
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for decomposition of organic hydroperoxides, in the presence of a catalyst. It provides a method for decomposition of organic hydroperoxides in the presence of a catalyst in an alcohol and ketone mixture wherein the catalyst comprises at least a catalytically active ruthenium-based metal element incorporated in a solid support selected from the group consisting of metal oxides and carbons such as carbons obtained by pyrolysis of organic compounds. The inventive method is particularly useful for decomposition of chemical intermediates such as cyclohexyl hydroperoxide.
