Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a method for cell switching based on an electronic map and a terminal device. The method comprises: a terminal device acquiring first base station information and second base station information from an electronic map, the first base station information being used for representing the position and the coverage range of a first base station, the second base station information being used for representing the position and the coverage range of a second base station; the terminal device determining a switching position according to the first base station information and the second base station information; and the terminal device performing a cell switching when arriving at the switching position. The method for cell switching based on an electronic map and the terminal device of the embodiments of the present invention determine a switching position in advance, through the first base station information and the second base station information acquired by the terminal device, and perform a cell switching when the terminal device arrives at the switching position, greatly improving the success rate of switching, effectively avoiding the situation where the terminal device leaves the coverage area of a source base station before completing the switching of the terminal device, thus improving the user experience.
