Abstract:
The present application provides a method and clock for time synchronization. The method comprises: a first clock receiving a first message and a second message sent by a second clock, the first message being used to indicate a time stratum of the second clock and the second message being used to indicate a frequency stratum of the second clock; comparing, after the first clock determines that a time stratum of the first clock and the time stratum of the second clock are the same, a frequency stratum of the first clock and the frequency stratum of the second clock, and obtaining a first comparison result; and the first clock determining, on the basis of the first comparison result, whether to select the second clock as a master clock of the first clock. The method includes frequency stratum as a factor of consideration when selecting a master clock. The technical method can therefore select a higher quality master clock or avoid selecting a lower quality master clock.
