Abstract:
A novel coloring method utilizing laser beam applicable to coloring of a shaped contact lens or intraocular lens, e.g. marking of characters or symbols, coloring at a specified region, or the like. A dye plate (14) made of a material containing a dye is superposed on one side (12) of an eye lens (10), e.g. a contact lens. Under that state, the dye plate (14) is irradiated with laser beam (20) in order to transfer the dye from the dye plate (14) to the eye lens (10) thus coloring the eye lens (10).
