Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for communication in a passive optical network system, an optical line terminal and an optical network unit. The PON system comprises an OLT and at least one ONU. The method comprises: the OLT receiving a first message sent, by means of a first uplink channel, by a first ONU from among the at least one ONU; determining a first round trip time (RTT) of the first ONU according to the time the first message was received; determining a time window according to the first RTT; sending first indication information to the first ONU by means of a downlink channel, wherein the first indication information comprises the time window; receiving a second message sent, by means of a second uplink channel and in the time window, by the first ONU; and determining a second RTT of the first ONU according to the time the second message was received. By means of the method for communication in a passive optical network system, the optical line terminal and the optical network unit in the embodiments of the present application, the time delay for the activation of windowing can be effectively reduced, implementation is simple, and costs are reduced.
