Abstract:
A method of composting, comprising charging a fermentation promoter into organic wastes in a sealed storage tank and effecting mixing and agitation thereof so as to realize fermentation and decomposition of the wastes into compost; and a composting apparatus therefor. The organic wastes are heated from outside the storage tank with the use of exhaust gas from a heating burner, and portion or all of the exhaust gas is introduced in the storage tank so as to bring the organic wastes to be fermented with direct contact with the exhaust gas. Thus, composting can be attained at high fermentation rate, and ammonia odor can be effectively decomposed through liberation and evaporation. Further, compost wherein miscellaneous bacteria have become desirably extinct can be produced.
