Abstract:
A method of constructing a large-sized marine structure (1) characterized in that the method consists of the steps of providing a pond (5), one end of which faces a seawater area via a gate (6'), in the vicinity of a dock (2), at least one end of which faces the seawater area via another gate (6); constructing in the dock (2) a plurality of blocks (1A, 1B) for building a large-sized marine structure; moving these blocks (1A, 1B) from the dock (2) to the seawater area and then into the pond (5); tack-welding the blocks (1A, 1B) in the pond (5); pumping out the water from the pond (5) so as to land the tack-welded blocks (1A, 1B) on the bottom surface (5a) of the pond (5); and welding the tack-welded blocks (1A, 1B) to each other completely.
