Abstract:
A method for continuous casting of molten steel for a thin sheet, in which, in the casting of aluminum-killed steel, a CaO·MgO based refractory containing 20 mass % or more of a CaO·MgO based clinker is used at least in a portion contacting with molten steel, wherein 60 % or more of MgO crystals contained in particles of the CaO·MgO based clinker have a particle diameter of 50 μm or less. In the method, MgO crystals in the molten steel have a reduced particle, which results in the reduction in the frequency of the occurrence of a scratch even when they are contained as inclusions in a cast steel and the steel is rolled.
