Abstract:
A method of continuous logging the borehole in the course of drilling with the use of drilling mud, comprising subjecting the drilling mud, which is fed into the borehole, to the unipolar electro-treatment with simultaneously measuring its redox-potential; the value thereof being maintained at an essentially permanent preset level The redox-potential value of the drilling mud emerging from the borehole is continuously measured and compared with the preset redox-potential value for the drilling mud to be fed into the borehole. Depending on their difference the mineralogical composition of the rocks adjoining the borehole is determined by way of comparison of the difference thus obtained with the known normal redox-potentials of minerals.
