Provided are a method for controlling the action of a robot and a robot system, wherein the control of a real-time action similar to that of a human hand can be performed on a robot having a structure different from that of the human hand. A monocular camera (30) and a stereo camera (40) acquire a teaching image including a wrist (22) and a hand (21) of a teacher (10) (a teaching information acquisition step, step S1). A control device (200) determines, on the basis of the teaching image, finger coordinates indicating the positions of joints and tips of the fingers (a finger coordinate determination step, step S3), and on the basis of the finger coordinates, calculates the angles of respective joints of a robot hand (a robot hand joint angle calculation step, step S4).
