Abstract:
A method of controlling an auxiliary chamber type engine, capable of reliably preventing misfire from occurring in the auxiliary combustion chamber. The method is provided with a first step for detecting the intake air pressure and the intake air temperature, a second step for calculating a main chamber excess air ratio using a predetermined formula, a third step for calculating an appropriate auxiliary chamber fuel amount from the main chamber excess air ratio, and a fourth step for calculating the period of opening of an auxiliary chamber fuel supply valve from a relational formula between the period of opening of the auxiliary chamber fuel supply valve and the auxiliary chamber fuel amount obtained by the calculation. The first to fourth steps are performed continuously.
