METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MOTOR VEHICLES COMPRISING AN AUTOMATIC CLUTCH DEVICE

The invention relates to a method for controlling a motor vehicle operating in a freewheel mode. Said vehicle comprises an automatic clutch device, a controllable motor with a motor control device, a controllable automatic gearbox and an electronic control unit for controlling the gearbox and the clutch device. According to said method, the motor vehicle speed, an actuation of a brake and a fuel supply measurement member and a state of the motor are detected. If neither the brake pedal, nor the fuel supply measurement member are identified as actuated whilst the motor is running and at a vehicle speed that exceeds a threshold value, the clutch is opened. The method is characterised in that if the brakes or the fuel supply measurement member are actuated, the clutch is closed, whereby prior to the closing of the clutch, the speed of the drive shaft of the gearbox is detected and the motor speed is regulated in such a way that both speeds correspond, in order to end a freewheel mode.
