Title:
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE NUMBER OF REVOLUTIONS OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AT AN IDLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1993/022550
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An idling revolution controlling method for regulating the volume of intake air supplied to an internal combustion engine at an idle so as to change the number of revolutions of the engine to a target one, wherein a value for the stroke cycle of the engine is detected, wherein a target torque improving rate Mi indicating over or under output torque of the engine caused by a delay in response in an intake system of the engine is estimated based on the detected value of the stroke cycle, wherein an ignition timing is controlled so as to be delayed or advanced in accordance with the detected torque improving rate Mi, and wherein the air-fuel ratio is made rich or lean by increasing or decreasing respectively, the amount of fuel supplied. This eliminates a risk of over or under intake air supply caused by a delay in response to idling revolutions variation, in the intake system, thereby making it possible to secure steady idling even at low speeds.
