Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling the rotational speed of an electric drive motor (3) of a household appliance (1) by means of a control device (4), which is supplied with a tachometer signal (6) of a tachometer (5), said signal characterizing the current rotational speed of the drive motor (3), and which generates an actuation signal (7) in accordance with the tachometer signal (6) and sends said signal to the drive motor (3), comprising the following steps: checking the tachometer signal (6) for plausibility by means of the control device (4) and, if the tachometer signal (6) is ascertained to be implausible, shutting off the drive motor (3) after a predetermined time interval has elapsed after the implausibility was ascertained, wherein the actuation signal (7) is maintained without changes, in the same manner in which it was present at the time the implausibility of the tachometer signal (6) was ascertained, within the predetermined time interval.
