Title:
METHOD OF CONVERTING THE ROTARY MOTION OF A SOLID BODY INTO THE BODY'S OWN LINEAR MOTION USING THE "DIRECTIONAL IMBALANCE" METHOD, AND A DEVICE FOR APPLYING SAID METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1996/012891
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention concerns a technical solution in the field of converting the rotary motion of a body into its own linear, controllable and steerable motion. The invention's field of application is that of space, atmospheric, ground, water, underwater and all-purpose locomotive or transport systems; the invention is intended for use as a propulsion or anti-inertial device, or in the moving parts of machines and mechanisms. The invention can be used to create a propulsion unit for locomotive and transport systems which does not interact with the external environment and which allows such system to move in any moving or rarefied medium. The possible systems include all-purpose vehicles for use in space, in the atmosphere and on water. Linear motion is created according to the proposed method by converting the rotary motion of a body into thrust by exploiting the cyclical motion of mobile weights towards and away from their axis of rotation, these weights being configured on and rotating with the body to create a directional imbalance.
