Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for coupling a suction tube (2, 202, 302) for body fluids to a container, said method comprising the steps of: - providing a tube adapter (10, 110, 210, 310) disposed on a tube portion (3, 203, 303), a seal with at least one annular sealing face (30, 130, 230, 330) and a container on which a tube adapter mating part (20, 120, 220, 320) is disposed, - producing a mechanical contact between a first locating face (17, 117, 217, 317) provided on the tube adapter (10, 110, 210, 310), the seal having at least one annular sealing face (30, 130, 230, 33), and a second locating face (22, 122, 222, 322) which is provided on the tube adapter mating part (20, 120, 220, 320), in a first orientation of the tube adapter (10, 110, 210, 310) relative to the tube adapter mating part (20, 120, 220, 320), and - rotating the tube adapter (10, 110, 210, 310) from the first orientation into a second orientation, such that by interaction of portions of the tube adapter (10, 110, 210, 310) with portions of the tube adapter mating part (20, 120, 220, 320) the seal having at least one annular sealing face (30, 130, 230, 330) is squeezed between the first locating face (17, 117, 217, 317) and the second locating face (22, 122, 222, 322). Also disclosed is a suction tube (2, 202, 302) for a method of this kind and a quick-release tube coupling (1, 101, 201, 301) for use therewith.
