Abstract:
Provided is a method for culturing a microalga, which can reduce the cost for production of a microalga-originated biomass. Also provided are: a microalga which can form a biofilm on the surface of a liquid; a biofilm which is formed on the surface of a liquid using the microalga; and a biomass and an oil both of which are produced from the biofilm. A method for culturing a microalga, which comprises culturing a microalga capable of forming a biofilm on the surface of a liquid so as to form a biofilm on the liquid surface of a liquid culture medium; and a microalga which can form a biofilm on the surface of a liquid, such as a microalga that is closely related to Botryococcus sudeticus.
