Title:
METHOD FOR DE-WAXING GAS AND OIL WELLS AND CORRESPONDING INSTALLATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/027437
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
According to the inventive method for de-waxing oil and gas wells, a preparatory operation is conducted, a heating cable (5) is introduced into the area of probable formation of paraffins and said cable is heated by controlling the heating mode. At the stage of preparatory operation, the depth of probable paraffin formation is determined as well as the length of the heating cable (5) and the power thereof, based on the flow rate of the well, the melting point of insulation material of the heating cable (5) and the temperature in the area where the lower end of the heating cable (5) introduced in the well is to be found. The consumption of power used to heat the cable is regulated by modifying the operation time of the heating cable (5) and the temperature of said cable, whereby said temperature is controlled and maintained over the entire length of the active part of heating cable (5) so as to be 5 to 50 °C higher than the paraffin melting point. The temperature of the flow of output product of the well is regulated depending on the ambient temperature so that to be at least 5 °C higher than the maximum temperature the output product would have in the absence of a heating cable (5). The heating cable (5) contains at least two heaters (16) isolated one from another and located in an insulating envelope (17) and connected by their first ends to a power source, whereby the other ends of said heaters (16) are interconnected and insulated. The ratio of electric resistances of the heaters (16) is selected in a range between 1.0 and 10.0.
