Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for decomposing a by-product of a phenol production process by using a reactive distillation column in which a reactor and a distillation column are integrated, wherein acetophenone is mixed and transferred with tar recovered through the lower portion of a reactive distillation column, thereby lowering the viscosity of the tar and allowing the transfer at room temperature, and, since operation is possible at 0.5-3 bar, the operation temperature of the reactive distillation column is low compared to a method for separating acetophenone by applying high pressure, thereby significantly reducing the operational cost of a heater necessary for a reaction, and the recovery rate of an active ingredient can be increased by separately recovering the acetophenone at a position of 25-90% of the total number of stages of the reactive distillation column.
