Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for decomposing phenolic byproducts, and more specifically, to a method for decomposing phenolic byproducts, which comprises the steps of: feeding a phenolic byproduct stream to a decomposer and conducting pyrolysis; separating an upper effluent stream containing an effective component from a lower effluent stream containing high-boiling point components in the decomposer; feeding the lower effluent stream of the decomposer, a side effluent stream of the decomposer, and a process water stream to a mixing device to conduct mixing; and feeding a stream released from the mixing device to a layer separation device to separate an oily phase and an aqueous phase.
