First dope (61) and second dope (62) different from each other are spread on a spreading support (86) under traveling, and a spread film (87) is gelatinized on the exposed surface side thus forming a gel layer (171) at a part of the spread film (87). The gel layer (171) is formed to exhibit shrinking force larger than surface tension of the second dope (62). Since the spread film (87) is imparted with self-smoothness by shrinking force of the gel layer (171), the film stripped from the spreading support and dried has no unevenness in thickness and has a smooth surface.
