Abstract:
A method for designing bilateral filtering-based motion compensation high-quality 4D-CBCT image reconstruction, comprising the following steps: 1) building a simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (SART)-based 3D-CBCT motion compensation reconstruction model, and reconstructing a high-quality CBCT image of a reference phase (i.e., phase 0%); 2) constructing an iterative optimization process, estimating 4D deformable vector field (4D-DVF) models between phase % and other 4D phase images, and further finding accurate 4D-DVF solutions comprising reverse sliding motion between surfaces of locomotive organs; and 3) sequentially deforming the high-quality phase 0% image according to 4D-DVF optimal solutions to obtain a final high-quality 4D-CBCT image sequence. According to the method, a high-quality 4D-CBCT image is accurately reconstructed without changing the hardware structure of an existing conventional radiotherapy linear accelerator. Therefore, the accuracy of image guided positioning before stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) of lung cancers is further improved.
