Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for designing eyeglass lenses, the method comprising: an eyeball model construction step for determining values for parameters for each of a plurality of optical elements to construct an eyeball model; an aberration acquisition step for making a light beam incident at a predetermined angle to a visual axis of the eyeball model and determining, by optical simulation, off-axis aberrations in a paracentral portion and a peripheral portion of the retina of the eyeball model; an aspheric coefficient value calculation step for placing an eyeglass lens in front of the eyeball model and performing the optical simulation to determine an aspheric coefficient value that acts to reduce the off-axis aberrations; and an aspheric shape determination step for determining, on the basis of the aspheric coefficient value, the aspheric shape of the eyeglass lens.
