Abstract:
A method of detecting the amount of axis displacement in a driving force transmission mechanism using an automatic self-aligning engagement clutch which can accurately detect the amount of axis displacement in the automatic self-aligning engagement clutch during the operation by a simple structure. In the driving force transmission mechanism, the rotating shaft of a first drive source and the rotating shaft of a second drive source are joined to each other through the automatic self-aligning engagement clutch to transmit a driving force to a body to be driven. The displacement amount of the position of each of the rotating shaft of the first drive source and the rotating shaft of the second drive source is measured by a non-contact sensor. From the results of measurements of the displacement amounts of the positions of the rotating shafts when the rotating shaft of the first drive source and the rotating shaft of the second drive source are joined to each other through the automatic self-aligning engagement clutch, the amount of axis displacement of the rotating shaft of the second drive source relative to the rotating shaft of the first drive source is detected.
