Abstract:

A method for detecting the call connection in a IP packet bearer network, which is used to determent the fault type when there is a fault, includes: set a detect port in a network interface unit of a media gateway, and the first media gateway continuously sends user datagram protocol detect packets to the said detecting port of the opposite media gateway, after the said first media gateway gets the said user datagram protocol detecting packets returned from the opposite media gateway, it computes transmission parameter, and determents the said fault type according to the transmission parameter of the said user datagram protocol detecting packets. When the method for detecting the call connection in a IP packet bearer network in the invention has detected the call fault, it detects the call fault in time in order to reflect the reason of the fault exactly and effectively, at the same time when the system is abnormity it monitors the operation of the IP bearer network and the media gateway device in order to convenience the operator to manage a NGN system.
