Abstract:
Provided is a method for of detecting the content of tin in a high-concentration tin hydroxide product, the method comprising the following steps: S1. completely dissolving a sample to be tested in concentrated hydrochloric acid to form a tin chloride solution to be tested; S2. while stirring, adding, to the solution to be tested, a dilute hydrochloric acid solution having a volume equivalent to 4-6 times the volume of the solution to be tested so as to obtain a mixed solution; S3. adding zinc powder to the mixed solution in multiple portions so as to carry out a reduction reaction; and S4. adding a starch indicator to the clear and transparent solution obtained in S3, titrating using a potassium iodate standard solution, and calculating, by conversion, the content of tin in the tin hydroxide according to on a titration result. The content by mass of elementary tin in the sample to be tested is not less than 30%. By the use of the principle of reductometry, controlling a reducing agent used and controlling the manner in which the reducing agent is added, the detection method can still achieve the complete reduction of tetravalent tin for a sample with a high content of tin; and repeated experiments confirm that the detection results have a good reproducibility.
