Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a spot welding device 2 for welding a workpiece W, which is a stack of a plurality of metal sheet materials, by applying pressure on the workpiece W using a pair of electrodes 33, 34 and, while maintaining a predetermined force of pressure, passing electricity between the pair of electrodes 33, 34; an operation control unit 42 which detects, at a predetermined time interval, an interelectrode distance between the pair of electrodes 33, 34; a calculation unit 51 which detects a rate of temporal change of the detected interelectrode distance; and a determination circuit unit 52 which determines that expulsion has occurred when the detected rate of change in a direction in which the pair of electrodes 33, 34 become proximal to each other is not less than a predetermined threshold value.
