A method of detecting a photographic direction shift, a device, an apparatus, and a data storage medium. The method comprises: acquiring horizontal accelerations of an image acquisition apparatus at respective points in time in a preconfigured time interval (201); determining, according to the horizontal accelerations at the respective points in time, a target photographic direction of the image acquisition apparatus; and when an angle between the target photographic direction and an actual photographic direction of the image acquisition apparatus at an end point in time in the preconfigured time interval satisfies a preconfigured criterion, determining that the actual photographic direction of the image acquisition apparatus is shifted (207). A user is not required to manually check the photographic direction of the image acquisition apparatus in the process, increasing real-timeness and accuracy of detection of a shift of photographic direction of the image acquisition apparatus.
