Abstract:

[Problem] To reduce the amount of power consumed up to the point at which a stylus configured to detect a sensor controller by receiving a signal transmitted by the sensor controller detects the sensor controller, while maintaining the maximum standby time at a value which is equal to or less than a conventional standby time. [Solution] This method comprises: a first transmitting step in which a sensor controller 31 transmits a first control signal US_c1 including two or more repetitions of a known repeating element c1; a detecting step in which a stylus 100 performs a receiving operation over a receiving time of a predetermined time duration SRP, determines whether the one or more repeating elements c1 are included in signals received during said receiving time, and detects the sensor controller 31 according to the determined results; and a second transmitting step in which the sensor controller 31 transmits a second control signal US_c2 including a plurality of bit values which are not shared in advance with the stylus 100.
