Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for detecting side effects produced by drug interaction, and a system thereof. The method comprises the steps of: confirming multiple patients taking a first drug in a database and the drug-taking time, confirming whether one or more other drugs are taken at the same time, calculating a propensity score for the patients using a logistic regression model, confirming a first drug side effect produced by the patients, calculating the incidence rates of the first drug side effect in the patients taking one or more other drugs at the same time and not at the same time using a Poisson regression model, and judging by calculation results whether the interaction between the first drug and one or more other drugs taken at the same time causes a relatively high incidence rate of the first drug side effect.
