Abstract:
A method of detecting the yield point of a solid material by a tensile test method using a weight type control method based on a viewpoint different from that for conventional tensile test methods: and a device used therefor. After a stress (&epsiv n) due to application of a fixed load (Wn) to a detection subject solid material has been stabilized, this is followed by stepwise application of fixed load (w (n+1)) with addition of successive step loads (Ws). Let the stress (&sgr n) obtained when the time (Ts (n)) required for the strain (&epsiv n) produced by application of the fixed load (Wn) and measured at each stage to become stabilized shows an unstable behavior from stable transition be the yield point (&sgr y) of the solid material. Further, let the stress (&sgr n) produced by the fixed load (Wn) when a difference of first order (&epsiv m) or a difference of second order (&epsiv o) for the strain (&epsiv n) resulting from application of each fixed load (Wn) shows an unstable behavior from stable transition be the yield point(&sgr y) of the solid material.
