Abstract:
Disclosed is a method, according to which forced misfires (eVA) are generated at specific moments in time when the internal combustion engine is operational. A parameter (K) which depends on the acceleration of the internal combustion engine is then determined by means of a conventional monitoring and analyzing process. Said parameter (K) is used for verification purposes and/or adjusting purposes so as to detect accidental misfires (uVA).
